If you want to watch a documentary on a subject that you have no previous knowledge about (which is how I choose my documentaries), "The Frozen Chosen" is a good option.

It is about the sturgeon spearing season in Wisconsin, not something I agree with, but very interesting to watch.

I'm bummed they took Ken Burns Civil war off of Netflix. I haven't seen anything that's piqued my interest lately though.

As far as crime, Who Took Johnny was pretty good. It's about the disappearance of Johnny Gosch who was the first kid that was put on a Milk Carton.
